Celebrating the life of

Scott Frederick Miller

October 02, 1961 - September 20, 2012

Scott Frederick Miller

Scott Frederick Miller
Surrounded by his loving family, Scott Frederick Miller died peacefully on September 20, 2012. Scott was born on October 2, 1961 in New Haven, Connecticut. He was the son of Dr. William A. Miller and Ann Y. Miller.
Scott attended Savannah Country Day School and was a graduate of The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut. He attended Furman University and The University of Georgia before completing his studies at Florida International University.
After a 20 year career in the food and beverage industry Scott turned his love of coffee and his hobby of roasting coffee beans into his new career and focus, The Ogeechee River Coffee Company. His knowledge and dedication to quality were well respected locally and nationally in the coffee industry.
Scott had a zest for life, a kind and generous spirit and genuine love for his family and friends. He was a mentor and guide for dozens of people. In his humble manner, he befriended and helped many. He did take great pride in his tennis game and had a wicked serve.
In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by his devoted wife, Shari Knight Miller, sister, Libby Miller, sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Scott Milliren, niece, Sarah Milliren, nephew, Harrison Milliren, aunt Marie Miller, family friend, Gay Fortson, and cats, Max and Maggie.
Scott was well loved and will be greatly missed by many. His spirit will continue to guide and support them.
Funeral Service will be held at Historic Christ Church Episcopal, on Johnson Square, on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Christ Church Episcopal, 18 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA 31401 or The Chatham-Savannah Humane Society, 7215 Sallie Mood Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.

Dr. and Mrs. Miller,I was so sorry to hear about Scott. It was such a shock. I saw him about two years ago by Tail Spin. I had to tease him about his hair loss, because when he was a young boy, I told him he looked just like his Dad. He let me know real quick that he had more hair. I will always remember how cute he was. All of you are in my thoughts during this sad time. Sincerely,Sherry
